Breezy, partly sunny, pleasant conditions

SAN JUAN — Today will be be breezy in the morning, but otherwise partly sunny and pleasant, AccuWeather said.

Tonight will be clear of clouds, allowing the heat to escape, for a low of 73 degrees Fahrenheit, according to AccuWeather.

Island residents should beware of dangerous breaking waves today, the National Weather Service said.

Waves on the north coasts of Puerto Rico and Culebra will be 6 feet high, according to the NWS.

Waves on the southern and western coasts of Puerto Rico will be 3 to 5 feet high, the NWS said.

Waves in the U.S. Virgin Islands will be 4 to 6 feet high, according to the NWS.

Swimmers should heed the advice of red flag warning systems as there is a moderate risk of life-threatening rip currents across the islands today, the NWS said.

“Always swim near a lifeguard,” the NWS said on X today.

Look for a ponding of water in roadways and areas that drain poorly, particularly across western Puerto Rico.

There is a low chance of localized urban and small streams flooding, according to the NWS.

We had some shower activity last night, especially in eastern Puerto Rico, the NWS said.
