FREDERIKSTED — A burglary suspect who allegedly hid in a woman’s bathroom and then sexually assaulted her was arrested by police on St. Croix.
Omarion Webbe, 22, was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary and first-degree unlawful sexual contact, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
The case began at 2:17 p.m. on February 15, 2025, when a 911 dispatcher got a call from “a female who reported that there was a man in her house attempting to rob her and the line disconnected,” according to the VIPD.

Patrol units were dispatched and the complainant informed them that the suspect was a black male wearing a gray shirt and shorts, police said.
The Criminal Investigation Bureau was assigned to this case and their investigation revealed that the suspect, Webbe, entered the complainant’s apartment without her authorization or knowledge and hid in the bathroom while she was outside her residence, according to police.
“When the complainant entered her home and went to the bathroom, she discovered the unknown male inside the bathroom,” VIPD spokeswoman Kishma Chichester said. “She stated that he exposed his private part to her, pushed her down and assaulted her.”
Based on the description provided by the complainant and security camera surveillance video, detectives apprehended Webbe, who was still in the area, according to Chichester.
Webbe was transported to the Wilbur Francis Command Police Station where he
was advised of his rights and provided a statement, police said.
Bail for Webbe was set at $75,000.00. Unable to post bail, he was transferred to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections at the John Bell Adult Correctional Facility in Golden Grove.
The suspect is scheduled for an advice-of-rights hearing in Superior Court this morning.
