Mostly sunny, breezy and pleasant but marine conditions present challenges

SAN JUAN — Today will be breezy in the morning; but otherwise, mostly sunny and pleasant, AccuWeather said.

Today’s high will be 86 degrees Fahrenheit; tonight will be clear to partly cloudy with a low of 74 degrees Fahrenheit, according to AccuWeather.

Dangerous breaking waves around 5-7 feet will lead to hazardous coastal conditions for beach goers today for the north-facing beaches of Puerto Rico, Culebra, St. Thomas and St. John, the National Weather Service said.

Therefore, a High Rip Current Risk statement is in effect until Monday afternoon for Puerto Rico, and until late this afternoon for St. Thomas, St. John, and Culebra, according to the NWS.

Breaking waves will become more dangerous around noon today, lasting into at least this evening, and a High Surf Advisory is in effect for the north-facing beaches of Puerto Rico through at least this evening, the NWS said.

Meanwhile, there is a low chance of localized and urban flooding, especially in western Puerto Rico.
