NWS issues Small Craft Advisory for the islands

SAN JUAN — There is a moderate risk today of rip currents for the north-oriented and east beaches of the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico , Vieques and Culebra, the National Weather Service said.

There is also a moderate risk of rip currents tonight for southeast Puerto Rico, according to the NWS..

People in the islands can expect frequent showers and winds of 15-20 mph, gusting up to 30 mph, the NWS said.

Meanwhile, a Small Craft Advisory is in effect for:

Offshore Atlantic waters until at least midnight on Monday.

The Anegada Passage from 6:00 a.m. Thursday until at least midnight on Monday.
