Isaac Gregory Encarnacion flown to Virginia to face child sodomy charges

MATTHEWS, Virginia — A St. Croix man was taken this weekend to Virginia to face sexual-assault-of-a-minor charges, authorities said,

Isaac Gregory Encarnacion, 28, was extradited from St. Croix to Virginia on Friday, the Matthews County Sheriff’s Office said.

Investigators in Florida contacted them last summer about a child who had reported multiple sexual assaults in Mathews, Virginia, the sheriff’s office said.

Following an investigation, deputies learned the assaults happened when the child and child’s family lived in Mathews County and continued until the family moved out of the area.

The victim was under the age of 13 at the time of the abuse.

In January 2025, a Mathews County grand jury indicted 28-year-old Isaac Gregory Encarnacion of Christiansted, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands on the following charges:

Authorities arrested Encarnacion in St. Croix.

He was extradited back to Mathews County on February 28.

He is currently being held without bond at the Middle Peninsula Regional Security Center in Virginia.
