Sunshine and clouds with a couple of showers and a high of 85

CHRISTIANSTED — St. Croix will see a couple of morning showers; otherwise, clouds and sunshine with a high of 85, AccuWeather said.

Tonight St. Croix will be partly cloudy with a couple of showers and a low of 71, according to AccuWeather.

Moderate to heavy showers are expected to develop this afternoon across the interior to eastern sections of Puerto Rico leading to urban and small stream flooding, the National Weather Service said.

There is a high risk of life-threatening rip currents today, according to the NWS.

People in Vieques and southern Puerto Rico will see breaking waves of 2 to 4 feet; those in Culebra and the U.S. Virgin Islands will see breaking waves of 4 to 6 feet and people in northern Puerto Rice will see breaking waves of 6 to 9 feet, the NWS said.

Northerly swells will continue arriving this week, increasing the risk of life-threatening rip currents across our local beaches, according to the NWS.

“If you’re heading to the coast, stay informed and stay safe!” it said on X.
