Earl Shervington accused of sexual assault on St. Croix, VIPD says

FREDERIKSTED – A St. Croix man was arrested on charges that he sexually assaulted a woman last year, authorities said.

Earl Shervington was arrested and charged with first-degree rape and first-degree unlawful sexual contact, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

On December 13, 2023, at approximately 2:22 p.m., a female victim walked into the Wilbur H. Francis Command Police Station to report that she was sexually assaulted by Earl Shervington, according to the VIPD.

A member of the Criminal Investigations Bureau was assigned to conduct the investigation into the complaint, police said.

During this investigation the Detective learned that Earl Shervington forced himself on the victim and sexually assaulted her, according to police.

On October 3, 2025, an arrest warrant was signed by an Honorable Magistrate Judge of the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands for Shervington’s arrest.

His bail was set at $75,000.00 for Rape First and Unlawful Sexual Contact First charges.

On October 9, 2025, Earl Shervington, 36, turned himself in at the Wilbur H. Francis
Command Police Station with his Defense Attorney.

Shervington was booked and allowed to post 10 % of the bail by the Honorable Court.

Earl Shervington’s advice-of-rights hearing is scheduled for this morning at the Superior Court in Kingshill.
