FBI arrests man for alleged attempted seduction of minor in Guaynabo

SAN JUAN – The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) confirmed the arrest of Juan José Rivera Colón, charged under a federal criminal complaint with alleged crimes of coercion and transportation of a minor for sexual purposes.

Rivera Colon is facing criminal charges of coercion and enticement of a minor and attempted transportation of a minor to engage in sexual activity, FBI Special Agent in Charge Devin J. Kowalski said today.

The arrest was made yesterday in Guaynabo, following an operation by FBI special agents.

Special Agent in Charge Kowalski warned about the seriousness of this type of crime. 

“There is no room in America for predators who prey on children. Criminals who think they can get away with it should think twice, because the FBI and our partners are after them. We will always work tirelessly to find and stop those who try to steal a child’s innocence. If you are a victim or know someone who is, please come forward. Together we can prevent the next tragedy from happening,” Kowalski said.

Rivera Colon was charged under a Federal Criminal Complaint in violation of Title 18 U.S.C. §
2422(b) — Coercion and Enticement, and 18 U.S.C. §2423(a) & (f) — Attempted Transportation
of a Minor, to engage in sexual activity.

This charge is related to the attempted enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity. RiveraColon was disrupted and arrested by FBI Special Agents and Task Force Officers, in Guaynabo,
Puerto Rico on October 16, 2025.

The investigation is being led by the FBI’s San Juan Field Office, and the Puerto Rico Federal Attorney’s Office will be in charge of prosecuting the case.

This case is being investigated by the FBI San Juan Field Office and is being prosecuted by the
United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Puerto Rico.
