Times of sun and clouds, high 87

Afternoon showers and localized flooding possible in western Puerto Rico, the National Weather Service said this morning.

Showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop across western Puerto Rico this afternoon, driven by daytime heating and moisture from an induced surface trough approaching the islands, according to the NWS.

Some showers may produce moderate to heavy rainfall, leading to urban and small stream flooding, especially in low-lying and poor-drainage areas, the NWS said.

Avoid flood-prone roads.
