Sunny to partly cloudy, breezy, high 88

A surface trough approaching from the east will increase showers from this morning into the late afternoon, the National Weather Service said this morning.

Most of the moisture will stay south of the region, but its proximity will enhance the chance for moderate to heavy showers and a few isolated thunderstorms, according to the NWS.

There is a limited to elevated risk of excessive rainfall, especially across central and southwestern Puerto Rico this afternoon, the NWS said.

There is a risk of life-threatening rip currents today – and through the weekend, according to the NWS.

Today St. Croix will be breezy with sunny to partly cloudy conditions and a high of 88, AccuWeather said.

Tonight St. Croix will experience mainly clear conditions and a low of 74, according to AccuWeather.
