SAINT THOMAS — The Virgin Islands Department of Education (VIDE) is officially inviting residents to apply for temporary employment positions for the upcoming 2026 Summer Food Service Program (SFSP).
The program, which is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), is designed to ensure that children across the territory continue to receive high-quality, nutritious meals during the summer vacation break when school is not in session.
How to Apply
Interested individuals can obtain application forms through the following methods:
- In-Person (STTJ): Pickup at the St. Thomas/St. John District office located at #21 Subbase.
- In-Person (STX): Pickup at the St. Croix District office located at the VIDE Main Headquarters.
- Online: Applications are available on the VIDE website under the School Food Authority (SFA) tab.
- Mobile: Applicants can also access the form by scanning the official QR code provided by the department.
The deadline to submit all applications is Friday, April 24, 2026.
Submission Requirements
Applicants must return all original documents to their respective SFA District Office. Submissions must include:
- A valid form of government-issued identification.
- An original Social Security card.
Mandatory Training Sessions
Attendance at a designated training session is a requirement for participation in the program.
- St. Croix District: Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Alfredo Andrews School Auditorium.
- St. Thomas/St. John District: Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Charlotte Amalie High School Cafeteria.
