St. Croix Man Drops Off Corpse at Hospital … Police Say They Are Investigating

CHRISTIANSTED — A St. Croix man who brought his wife’s lifeless body to the Emergency Room but did not call for an ambulance or 911 is under investigation.

Police sources said the man brought the woman to the Juan F. Luis Hospital and told health officials that his wife’s condition has been deteriorating since Hurricane Maria in September 2017.

Hospital officials described the woman as being “emaciated” and they quickly called police authorities after the “suspicious” death.

Police forensic officials were called to the health facility in Estate Diamond to examine the woman’s cause of death for foul play.

No further information was available about this incident as the Virgin Islands Police Department did not respond to a request for comment.
