VIPD: St. Thomas’ Khalid Guishard Gunned Down Near Hospital Ground Early This Morning

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — On Saturday, April 28, 2018 at about 3:01 a.m., police on patrol reported via radio to Central that shots were fired in Hospital Ground area. Upon further inspection officers reported that a man was down.

Virgin Islands Police Department officers said they observed an unresponsive young black male lying on his back. EMT’s on the scene examined the victim who had no vital signs.  An investigation revealed that the dead man was shot multiple times to his body.

The deceased was later transported to Roy L. Schneider Regional Medical Center morgue. The deceased was identified as 27-year-old Khalid J. Guishard who was identified by mother; next of kin.

It is the second murder in 15 days in St. Thomas.

The case is presently under investigation by the Major Crime Unit, according to the VIPD.
