HOOPS CLASSIC: St. Croix’s Tim Duncan stands next to Senate President Myron Jackson surrounded by Virgin Islands notables.

Hoop Classic Saturday night with a portion of the proceeds funding high school basketball teams across the Virgin Islands.
The 20th anniversary game had no shortage of talent, featuring former USVI stars like Cuthbert Victor, Kevin Sheppard, Craig Williams Jr., Khalid Gerard and Jabahri Brown.
Four high school seniors from the area joined Duncan and friends to play an exhibition game against U.S. professional streetball talent.
For the future San Antonio Spurs Hall of Famer, things are a lot different for his old team with Kawhi Leonard out the door and long-time teammate and big-three member Tony Parker signing with the Charlotte Hornets.
Depending on Duncan’s recent performance Saturday, head coach Gregg Popovich may want to give the 42-year-old a call to see if he’s willing to come back for 2018-19 to help the Spurs through their transition period.
