Three Men Shot While Driving On Emerald Hill Road in St. Thomas Monday

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Three men were in the hospital after being shot on St. Thomas’ East End early on Monday morning.

The men, who were shot in Smith Bay about 1:08 a.m., were listed in stable condition at the Schneider Regional Medical Center, authorities said.

Callers to the 911 Emergency Call Center said some of the victims were being taken to the St. Thomas hospital by private vehicles.

Police were dispatched to the hospital where one victim was able to speak to detectives.

One of the three men said that they were traveling through Emerald Hill on their way to Water Bay Condos, when they heard multiple gunshots being fired in the direction of their car.

The man speaking to police said that he was able to drive the vehicle as far as the condos and then family members drove them to the hospital.

On the V.I. Free Press‘ Facebook platform, Kenneth Moolenaar had this to say: “They are giving out bullets like it’s a gift.”

The Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) is actively investigating the shooting, according to VIPD spokesman Glen Dratte.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the CIB at: 340-774-2211 or 911. Information can also be provided to the anonymous tipline Crimestoppers VI at: 1-800-222-8477 or online at: www.crimestoppersvi.org
