Blyden Congratulates Scholarship Recipients And All 2019 Graduates

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Senator Marvin Blyden extended his heartfelt congratulations to the recipients of the 2019 Marvin A. Blyden Scholarship.

Through distribution by the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands, the Senator awarded $10,000 in scholarships to high school seniors in the St. Thomas/St. John District who will attend a college, university, or vocational school this fall. 

Scholarship recipients from Ivanna Eudora Kean High School were Ki’Andre Thomas, Ellaina Wyllis, Khaysaun Vanterpool, Elisa Webbe and Jean-R Apollon, while JahQuan Richards, Aaliyah Ambrose, Ludovic Atemazem, J’Mari Clarke and Jalen Roper were from Charlotte Amalie High School.

Blyden said he recognizes “all graduates and promotees of the Class of 2019.”

“Graduation and promotion are important steps towards your future careers and you have worked very hard to get where you are,” he said. “I am extremely proud of all of you.”

Funds for the 2019 Marvin A. Blyden Scholarship were raised at the 5th Annual Scholarship Breakfast held on May 18.
