SBA Boot Camp To Aid ‘Economically Disadvantaged Small Businesses’

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands District Office will conduct a Federal Contracting Opportunities Boot Camp on St. Thomas on June 27 as part of the SBA’s 7(j) Management and Technical Assistance program, to support socially and economically disadvantaged small businesses in their efforts to obtain federal contracts.

“At SBA we are committed to providing small business owners in the U.S. Virgin Islands with the training and technical assistance they need in their efforts to obtain federal contracts,” said Wayne Huddleston, SBA senior area manager. “During this hands-on workshop, entrepreneurs will learn how to find relevant federal opportunities for their small businesses and strategies for pursuing them.”

SBA’s 7(j) program provides training, executive education and one-on-one consulting in a wide range of business activities, including marketing, accounting, opportunity development and capture, contract management, compliance and financial analysis.
