VIPD: Abijah Isaac Arrested In Connection To Castle Coakley Shooting Of 3

CHRISTIANSTED — A St. Croix man with a five-year history of being wanted by police has been arrested in connection to a shooting that left three people injured, including a minor, authorities said.

Abijah Isaac, 20, of Sion Farm, turned himself in to police about 3:13 p.m. on Tuesday after learning that he was a person of interest in the shooting that occurred in Castle Coakley on Sunday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

Isaac, who was out on bail after being arrested on January 11 on a second-degree burglary charge, was positively identified by witnesses as one of the persons who opened fire near Sunny Isle, according to the VIPD

Bail for Isaac was set at $75,000. Unable to post bail, he was remanded to the custody of the Virgin Islands Bureau of Corrections (BOC) pending an advice-of-rights hearing.

“VIPD is appreciative of those individuals who provided information with regards to this investigation,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.
