Bovoni Man Who Allegedly Used Crowbar And Brick In Fight With Family Member Arrested: VIPD

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A St. Thomas man who allegedly used a crowbar and a brick as weapons during a fight with a family member has been arrested on domestic violence-related charges, authorities said.

Isaiah Simmonds, 36, of Estate Bovoni was arrested about 8:30 a.m. Sunday and charged with first-degree assault-domestic violence, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“On April 4, the male victim stated that he was assaulted by Simmonds with a crowbar and a brick during a disagreement,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “The victim sustained multiple injuries about the body in the incident.”

Detectives from the Domestic Violence Unit made the arrest Sunday morning, Derima said.

No bail was set for Simmonds as per the Domestic Violence statutes. He was remanded to the custody of the Virgin Islands Bureau of Corrections pending an advice-of-rights hearing.
