VIPD: St. Thomas Man Takes Knife Away From Girlfriend And Threatens Her With It

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Police detectives from the Domestic Violence Unit were dispatched to the Schneider Regional Medical Center about 1 a.m. today to investigate a report of an assault victim authorities said.

An unidentified woman told police that she was assaulted by her boyfriend while they were in their vehicle, and again when they arrived at their residence, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“The victim reported that during the altercation she retrieved a knife, but the suspect took the knife from her and used it to threaten her life,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “The victim was able to escape and drove herself to the Emergency Room for treatment of the injuries sustained.”

This incident is currently under active investigation.
