CHARLOTTE AMALIE — The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority said that the Bovoni Landfill will once again accept “green waste and seaweed” in St. Thomas effective today.
But the ban on green waste and seaweed is still in effect for the Anguilla Landfill on St. Croix, according to VIWMA.
“The St. Croix public is asked to hold green waste and seaweed until further notice,” VIWMA spokeswoman Melody Rames said. “VIWMA staff and contractors are working expeditiously to make the necessary adjustments to safely accommodate green waste at the Anguilla landfill.”
