Stray Dog Killed With ‘Sharp Instrument’ In Calquohoun This Morning: VIPD

FREDERIKSTED — The VIPD Animal Cruelty Investigator received a call from a concerned citizen saying that a stray dog she feeds in Estate Calquohoun was found dead earlier in the morning.

The caller, who contacted police about 12 p.m. today, said the dog appeared to have several large lacerations to the body, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“The detective traveled to the scene and found the dog with three large and deep lacerations to the left eye, middle of the back and front right leg, probably the result of a sharp instrument,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.

This incident, classified as a first-degree animal abuse incident, is currently under active investigation.
