Sion Farm Man Charged With Assault After Stabbing Incident In Glynn: VIPD

CHRISTIANSTED — A St. Croix man was arrested after allegedly stabbing another man during a dispute in Estate Glynn, authorities said.

Luis Lopez, 62, of Sion Farm, was arrested at 1:47 a.m. Saturday and charged with first-degree assault, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“Lopez assaulted a man with a knife, causing injuries,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “The incident occurred in Estate Glynn.”

The victim was transported to the Juan F. Luis Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

Bail for Lopez was set at $75,000. Unable to post bail, he was remanded to the custody of the Virgin Islands Bureau of Corrections (BOC) pending an advice-of-rights hearing.

All people listed as arrested or charged with a crime by the VIPD are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
