Mafolie Road To Be Closed For 30-Minute Intervals Starting Tomorrow: DPW

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — The Department of Public Works is asking St. Thomas residents to refrain from using Mafolie Road tomorrow and Monday.

“The road will be closed for 30-minute intervals throughout the workday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to allow the contractor to install 24-inch storm drain pipes,” DPW spokeswoman Renee Exius said.

During the closures, motorists will be re-routed through Pilgrim’s Terrace bypass and Mannassah Hill road, Exius said.

Motorists are urged to adhere to all traffic controls and respect signals from on-site flaggers.

“The Department of Public Works appreciates the community’s patience as they work to improve road conditions throughout the territory,” she said.

The estimated total cost of the project is: $909,136.07
