Thieves Make Off With 3 Horses From Carlton Farm After Midnight, Owner Says

FREDERIKSTED — Three horses are missing from a farm in Estate Carlton and are believed stolen, the owners said on social media today.

Jennifer Olah, in a post to the St. Croix Sync Tank, a private Facebook group associated with the Virgin Islands Free Press, said the horses, “Moonshine,” “Sparrow” and “Warrior” were led off the property sometime after midnight.

“Please help us find these three horses that were stolen from our farm in Carlton, near Kmart west within the last 12 hours!” Olah said. “If you saw anyone riding or leading horses on any roads in west within the past 24 hours, please inbox me!!”

Olah said said the horses were taken along with several halters and at least 10 lead ropes.”

“The gate locked back shut and all other horses still in the pen. They were definitely stolen, they did not get loose,” she said.

There was no comment from the Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) as of press time.

“MOONSHINE, WARRIOR & SPARROW are some of our MOST beloved horses and we need to find them FAST!!” Olah said. “Please know i am doing everything I can to help prevent thefts from the farm, but things take time to set up. If you want to know what steps we are taking, please inbox for info. I’m not making my security protocols public.”

Olah is the owner-operator of Cruzan Cowgirls Horseback Riding Tours in Frederiksted.
