VIPD’s Central Records Bureau In St. Thomas Resumes Accepting Credit Cards For Payments

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — The VIPD’s Records Bureau on St. Thomas can once again accept payment by credit cards.

The Virgin Islands Police Department said today that its “Central Records Bureau credit/debit card machines are now operable.”

“Our Records Bureau team and Information Technology Bureau will continue to monitor the devices to ensure proper functionality,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.

On Tuesday, the VIPD advised the general public that it could only accept cash at the Alexander Farrelly Criminal Justice Complex because its credit card machine was “experiencing technical difficulties.”

“We appreciate your patience and understanding and sincerely apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused,” Derima said.
