CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Police are investigating a shooting at a Contant bar that left two men seriously injured — one of them critically — on Wednesday night, authorities said.

The 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched officers to the Schneider Regional Medical Center in reference to two gunshot victims at 8:54 p.m. Wednesday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“One male victim reported that he was at the Manuel Bar & Restaurant, located in Estate Contant, when two masked men entered the establishment with guns and opened fire,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.

The unnamed victim was injured as a result of the gunfire, and was transported to the hospital via ambulance for treatment, where he was listed in serious condition, Derima said.

“Another victim was transported to the hospital via private vehicle for treatment of gunshot wounds from the incident,” the police spokesman said. “He was listed in critical condition, and is scheduled to be airlifted to a facility on the mainland for further treatment.”

The double shooting is under active investigation.
