Food And Water Relief Supplies To Be Shipped To St. Vincent From St. Croix

FREDERIKSTED — People on St. Croix are responding to the growing humanitarian crisis in St. Vincent caused the the eruption of the La Soufrière volcano on April 9.

The St. Vincent Relief Team organized by Mrs. Blackman met at the Stop & Shop Supermarket in Hannah’s Rest this morning to purchase needed cases of water for our volcano-raged sister island..

Deputy Police Commissioner Celvin Walwyn was in the parking lot of Stop & Shop today hand-lettering signs near the shipping container that will be used to send the relief supplies to St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

“They need water,” Deputy Commissioner Walwyn said. “Three cases for $11. They are by the Stop and Shop parking lot in west.”
