Texas Woman Flagged At CEK Airport As ‘Fugitive From Justice’ Over DUI Case

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A Texas woman is in official custody after she was flagged at the St. Thomas airport Wednesday as being wanted on an outstanding warrant, authorities said.

Breanna K. Ward, 34, of Kingwood,Texas, was arrested at 12:35 p.m. Wednesday and charged with being a fugitive from justice, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“Customs and Border Patrol agents detained Ward at the Cyril E. King Airport after it was discovered that she was wanted in the state of Texas for a probation violation,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “Ward was originally charged with Driving Under the Influence in Texas, and her probation was revoked.”

Ward was caught up in the net of the VIPD/U.S. Marshal’s Service Fugitive Regional Task Force and it was detectives assigned to that force who arrested her.

She was remanded to the custody of the Virgin Islands Bureau of Corrections without bail, pending her extradition hearing.
