St. Croix Man Arrested After He Uses Ploy To Get Inside Apartment To Beat Woman

FREDERIKSTED — A St. Croix man who used a ruse in order to gain entry to his former lover’s household turned on a dime and started whaling on the woman once he got inside, authorities said.

K’Jahni A. “Jahn Doe” Rivera, 18, of Mount Pleasant, was arrested at 1:52 p.m. Wednesday and charged with second-degree assault-domestic violence; simple assault & battery; and disturbance of the peace by fighting, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“Rivera allegedly assaulted his former partner causing visible injuries on February 22,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.

Rivera was arrested by detectives with the VIPD Domestic Violence Unit, according to Derima.

Rivera was jailed without bail, as per the territory’s domestic violence laws, pending his Advice of Rights hearing.
