FREDERIKSTED — The Department of Public Works is advising the community of a westbound lane closure on Melvin Evans Highway from the West Airport Intersection to the Williams Delight Intersection.
The road closing, which will remain in effect until Friday, will allow the contractor to finish milling and paving the lanes, according to DPW.
“This is the fifth segment of this six-phase project” DPW spokeswoman Renee Exius said. “The public is asked to avoid these areas and use alternate routes as much as possible during this time.”
DPW “appreciates the community’s patience as they work to improve road conditions throughout the territory,” Exius said.
