Police Investigating Stabbing At The Bungalow Near Market Square Late Sunday Night: VIPD

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Police are investigating after a man told police he saw an acquaintance get stabbed in the neck twice near Market Square late Sunday night.

The 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched officers to the Market Square area of the bungalow in reference to a stabbing about 11:05 p.m. Sunday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

Officers met with a male witness who was present during the stabbing incident who stated that the victim is known as “Roscoe,” according to the VIPD.

“He explained to officers that he was sleeping while he observed a silhouette walking towards Roscoe from the southern side of the bungalow and that he saw the individual stab Roscoe twice around his neck with an object,” VIPD Communications Director Glen Dratte said.

Police met with “Roscoe” at the Schneider Hospital, but he declined to give a statement to police, according to Dratte. Officers learned later that Roscoe’s actual name was “Rolston Steven.”

“Investigation revealed that Mr. Steven sustained a small laceration under his chin on the (left side), the police spokesman said.
