CHRISTIANSTED — A 17-year-old suspect will be bound over as an adult to face attempted murder charges in connection to a shooting-robbery at the Sunny Isle Shopping Center seven months ago.
Kaden Christian Durand, 17, was arrested Friday and charged with first-degree assault, third-degree assault, first-degree robbery, unauthorized possession of a firearm during a crime of violence and grand larceny, the Virgin Islands Police Department said today.
Members of the Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) took Durand into custody without incident on Friday, according to the VIPD.
Durand was arrested pursuant to an arrest warrant that was signed by Superior Court Judge

The suspect was charged as an adult, booked and processed. Bail for Durand was set at $100,000. Unable to post bail, he was remanded to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections at the John A. Bell Adult Correctional Facility pending an advice-of -rights hearing tomorrow at the Superior Court.
