Be On The Lookout For Fires At Western Cemeteries After Sunset, VIFEMS Chief Says

CHARLOTTE AMALIE The Virgin Islands Fire and Emergency Medical Services is investigating a series of fires set in the Western Cemeteries in St. Thomas.

Residents and motorists in the surrounding areas of Charlotte Amalie are asked to be on the alert for the presence of smoke or flames and call 911 immediately, according to VIFEMS.

“We can confirm that the fires were intentionally set and seeking public assistance in identifying the person or persons responsible,” VIFEMS Director Daryl A. George said. “Report any suspicious vehicles or people in the vicinity of the Western Cemeteries after sunset.”
