Detectives with the Economic Crimes Unit began an investigation into Reyes on August 15, after a complaint was filed with police, according to the VIPD.

“The investigation revealed that Wanda Reyes, knowingly and intentionally defrauded her elderly father, by taking him to Oriental Bank to conduct two separate cash withdrawals totaling $1,000.00, knowing that he suffers from Alzheimer’s and was incapable to provide consent,” VIPD Communications Director Glen Dratte said.

Detectives with the Economic Crimes Unit executed an arrest warrant for Reyes at her residence in Bethlehem Village, where she was read her Miranda Rights and placed under arrest without incident, according to Dratte.
