Woman Who Was Beaten and Bruised By Boyfriend Points Out Attacker To Cops

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Virgin Islands Police are investigating after a St. Thomas man was charged with a domestic violence related assault that happened six days ago.

Javier Lima, 29, of St. Thomas, was arrested today and charged with second-degree assault-domestic violence, third-degree assault-domestic violence, simple assault-domestic violence and disturbance of the peace-domestic violence, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

A female companion got treatment at 11:00 p.m. on November 29 for multiple bruises and a broken wrist after an altercation with Lima, according to the VIPD.

Lima turned himself into the Domestic Violence Unit at 6:30 a.m. today to face the domestic violence charges filed against him.

The suspect was advised of his Miranda Rights, booked, processed, and turned over to the Bureau of Corrections pending an advice-of-rights hearing.

No bail was set in this case as per the domestic violence laws in the territory.
