CHRISTIANSTED — A search warrant presented on St. Croix found live ammunition, illegal drugs in a Sunny Isle-area residence and led to the arrest of one man Friday, authorities said.
Edelfonso Garcia, 45, was arrested during the search and charged with possession or sale of ammunition and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
The search warrants were executed by members of the Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB), Special Operation Bureau (SOB), U.S. Marshals Service, ATF and HIDTA at 4:55 a.m. Friday at a residence in Peppertree Terrace in connection to the homicide investigation of Bradley Maxwell that occurred on December 28, 2022, according to the VIPD.
During the search live ammunitions and illegal drugs were recovered in Peppertree Terrace. At 5:44 a.m., Garcia, was arrested and advised of his Miranda Rights.
Bail for Garcia set at $7,500.00. Unable to post bail, he was booked and transported to the John A. Bell Adult Correctional Facility in Estate Golden Grove where he was remanded pending further court action.
