CHRISTIANSTED — The owner of a St. Croix nightclub was shot and killed on Friday night, police said.
Officers responded to reports of shots fired at around 9:49 p.m. on Friday night near Big Masters Bar and Nightclub on Prince Street, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
They arrived at the scene to find a man lying on the shoulder of the roadway near the club’s entrance with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds, according to the VIPD.
Emergency medical technicians arrived later and found no signs of life. The victim was identified as the club’s owner, 50-year-old Emanuel Premier. According to police, witnesses saw Premier engaged in a fight moments before he was shot.
