Tropical Wave brings ‘moisture field,’ urban flood advisory issued for St. Thomas

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A tropical wave and associated moisture field will continue to approach the islands bringing an increase in showers and thunderstorm activity across the region to start the day, the National Weather Service said today.

For the rest of the day, the presence of Saharan dust along with increasing moisture will aid in maintaining hazy/hot conditions in some areas.

However, the potential for shower and thunderstorm development will continue to increase during the afternoon and into the evening hours as the tropical wave approaches the region.

But no tropical cyclone formation is expected over the next seven days.
