LIAT Airlines launches route to British Virgin Islands

ROAD TOWN — LIAT Airlines (2020) Limited has marked another significant milestone in enhancing its connectivity, with the addition of Tortola, British Virgin Islands to its route.

The inaugural flight, which touched down at the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport on Sunday, symbolizes a renewed commitment to providing reliable and affordable air travel across the Caribbean.

“Today, we celebrate not just the arrival of LIAT Airlines but also the strengthening of our connections within the Caribbean. This service is vital for fostering economic growth and enhancing the cultural exchange among our islands,” Premier of the Virgin Islands, The Honourable Dr. Natalio D. Wheatley stated. 

Speaking during this momentous occasion, Ms. Hafsah Abdulsalam, Chief Executive Officer of LIAT (2020) Limited, said:

“We are excited to reconnect the British Virgin Islands with the rest of the Caribbean. Our focus is on providing reliable services that meet the needs of travelers while promoting regional tourism.”

LIAT will operate with regular flights from Beef Island with an introductory one-way fare starting at $99, available for a limited time. 

LIAT 2020 Limited, operating as LIAT20, or LIAT, is an airline of Antigua and Barbuda.  The company was preceded by LIAT (1974), and commenced operations on August 6, 2024. LIAT20 is a 30/70 venture between the Government of Antigua and Barbuda and Air Peace, and its fleet has been inherited from LIAT (1974).
