SAN JUAN — For the second time this week, the National Weather Service warns that “breezy and windy conditions” could fuel fires in western and southern Puerto Rico.
“Secure loose items, avoid outdoor burning, and report fires right away!” the NWS said on X this morning.

There is a moderate risk today of rip currents for the north-oriented, east and southeast beaches of the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Vieques and Culebra, according to the NWS.
The same rip current risk exists for southwestern Puerto Rico tonight.

A Small Craft Advisory is in effect for:
Offshore Atlantic waters and the Anegada Passage until at least midnight on Monday.
The Offshore Caribbean waters and the Mona Passage until at least 6 PM Friday.

Meanwhile, NEXRAD in Puerto Rico will be out of service for a scheduled maintenance today, the NWS said on X.
The radar service is expected to be down from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. today.
