CHRISTIANSTED — Today St. Croix will have intervals of clouds and sunshine with a couple of showers mainly early in the day with a high of 87, AccuWeather said.

Stronger showers will develop and linger across northwestern Puerto Rico today, the National Weather Service said.

There is a moderate risk of rip currents for St. Croix today, the NWS said.

Low risk elsewhere, however, life-threatening rip currents often occur in the vicinity of groins, jetties, reefs, and piers, according to the NWS.

And there is an elevated risk of urban and small stream flooding, rapid river rises, and isolated mudslides for this area, the NWS said.

Showers will prevail for the rest of the afternoon, according to the NWS.

“Please exercise caution due to slippery roads and reduced visibility,” the NWS said on X.
