Man shot and killed on King Cross Street in Frederiksted

FREDERIKSTED — Police are investigating after a St. Croix man was shot and killed in Frederiksted town late last night.

Isaiah Fawkes. 45, was positively identified by a family member as the homicide victim, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

The case began about 10:39 p.m. on April 7, 2025, when 911 dispatchers got reports of shots fired and a man lying down in the Frederiksted Town area, according to the VIPD.

“Patrol units were dispatched to investigate,” VIPD spokeswoman Kishma Chichester said.

Responding officers found the body of a black male lying on the ground in the eastbound lane north of the King Cross Street intersection, according to Chichester.

Emergency Medical Services personnel attempted to provide medical assistance, but Fawkes had no signs of life, police said.

“An investigation revealed that he had been shot multiple times to his upper body,” Chichester said.

This case remains under active investigation by the Major Crime Unit (MCU) of the Criminal
Investigation Bureau.
