St. Croix: Partly sunny, windy, a passing shower or 2 and a high of 87

CHRISTIANSTED — Today St. Croix will be partly sunny and windy with a passing shower or two and a high of 87, AccuWeather said.

Tonight St. Croix will be rather cloudy and breezy with a couple of late night showers and a low of 75, according to AccuWeather.

The islands of our area can expect: rough and hazardous seas due to windy conditions, the National Weather Service said.

Most beaches present the risk of life-threatening rip currents, according to the NWS.

We will also see winds of 20–30 mph gusting up to 40 to 50 mph across the region, particularly across coastal areas, the NWS said.

“Secure loose items,” it said on X.

These conditions and low relative humidity values will also elevate the risk of brush fires, according to the NWS.

The NWS issued a wind advisory for the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico which is in effect until 8:00 p.m. tomorrow.

The rip current statement the NWS issued for the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico is in effect until 6:00 p.m. Saturday.
