Argument over music choice leads to speaker damage, DV charge

FREDERIKSTED — A St. Croix man is facing a domestic violence charge after a heated argument led to property damage, authorities said.

J’Lorn Henley, 20, was arrested and charged with destruction of property-domestic violence, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

The charge stems from a weekend incident n which officers with the Patrol Division responded to a domestic violence “altercation” at 2:16 p.m. on November 8, 2025, according to the VIPD.

“When officers arrived at the victim’s residence and conducted their investigation, they
discovered that Henley had damaged her portable speaker,” VIPD spokeswoman Kishma Chichester said.

No bail was offered to Henley in keeping with the territory’s domestic violence statutes.

The suspect was transferred to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections at the John A. Bell Adult Correctional Facility in Estate Golden Grove.

The Superior Court spelled the suspect’s first name as “J’Lorn;” while the police spelled his first name “J’Lorne.”

Henley was scheduled to appear for an advice-of-rights hearing at the Superior Court in Estate Kingshill this morning.
