FREDERIKSTED – Police secured the scene of a structural fire of a popular bar on King Street this morning.
At approximately 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2025, the 911 Emergency Call Center got a report of a structural fire at the Lost Dog Pub in Frederiksted, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
Upon units’ arrival, emergency responders found a commercial building fully engulfed in flames, according to the VIPD.
“One individual was inside the building at the time; that person was safely evacuated,” VIPD Communications Director Glen Dratte said.
Fire crews arrived on scene and contained the fire, ensuring that it did not spread to adjacent
buildings, according to Dratte.
WAPA personnel were also called to the scene to secure electrical systems and determine whether the fire was related to an electrical issue, police said.
Currently, the cause of the fire is under active investigation, according to police.
Additional information will be disseminated to the public as it becomes available, officials said.
