CHRISTIANSTED — A St. Croix man is facing a long list of charges after a search of his Richmond apartment turned up a gun and gun paraphernalia, authorities said.
Waldo Knight Sr., 44, of John F. Kennedy Terrace, was arrested and charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, carrying of a firearm openly or concealed, possession or sale of ammunition and illegal discharge of a firearm, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
The case began on November 13, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., when the 911 Emergency Call Center got calls and ShotSpotter notifications of shots being fired in the John F. Kennedy Terrace apartments in Estate Richmond, according to the VIPD.
Patrol units were dispatched and upon the officers’ arrival they contacted witnesses in the area who disclosed that Waldo Knight was the person who had discharged the shots, police said.
Detectives of the Criminal Investigation Bureau were assigned to investigate this matter and obtained a telephonic warrant from a judge of the Superior Court, according to police.
“A search of the apartment that Knight entered after firing the shots was carried out, and a firearm and
numerous firearm paraphernalia were located,” VIPD spokeswoman Kishma Chichester said.
Knight was taken into official custody and transported to the Wilbur H. Francis Command Police
Station in Estate Mars Hill.
He was advised of his Miranda Rights and declined to make a statement, according to Chichester.
Knight was then booked under the charges above and processed.
His bail was set at $30,000.00 and $50,000.00. Unable to post bail, he was transferred to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections at the John A. Bell Adult Correctional Facility in Estate Golden Grove.
Knight was scheduled for an advice-of-rights hearing at the Superior Court in Estate Kingshill this morning.
