FREDERIKSTED – A St. Croix man is accused of destroying three structures on a person’s property as an act of domestic violence, authorities said.
Francisco Cruz-Santiago, 39, was arrested and charged with destruction of property-domestic violence and disturbance of the peace, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
A complainant was present at the Wilbur H. Francis Police Station on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at about 3:25 p.m., to file a complaint in reference to Francisco Cruz-Santiago destroying his property, according to the VIPD.

“Cruz-Santiago did admit to destroying the victim’s storage room, the pump room, and the tool shed,” police said in a prepared statement.
He was transported to Juan F. Luis Hospital for treatment and later discharged, according to police.
On Sunday, January 11, 2026, patrol officers took Cruz-Santiago into official custody without incident.
The suspect was transported to the Wilbur H. Francis Police Station in Mars Hill where he was advised of his Miranda Rights, booked and processed.

Cruz-Santiago was not offered bail as per the territory’s domestic violence statutes.
He was transferred to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections at the John A. Bell Adult Correctional Facility in Golden Grove.
Cruz-Santiago is scheduled for an advice-of-rights hearing at the Superior Court in Kingshill this morning.
