CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Police are investigating a broad daylight robbery of a jewelry store on Main Street in St. Thomas Wednesday afternoon.
Officers and detectives converged on Precious Jewels and Diamonds about 12:26 p.m. Wednesday after a robbery was reported, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
Responding officers interviewed the business owners and several witnesses, who reported that multiple masked suspects dressed in all black entered the establishment, shattered glass display cases and removed jewelry valued at “several thousand dollars,” according to the VIPD.

Witnesses further stated that after taking the jewelry, the suspects fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction, police said.
At this time, the identities of the suspects remain unknown; however, they are to be considered “armed and dangerous,” according to police.
The incident is currently under active investigation by the Virgin Islands Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Bureau.
