ST. THOMAS — A high-speed pursuit through the streets of Charlotte Amalie ended in the arrest of a 30-year-old man Thursday morning after he nearly collided with a police vehicle during a robbery investigation.

Upon making contact with the driver, identified as Ricaldo Thomas, officers detected the telltale odor of marijuana emanating from the cabin.

A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of an illegal firearm, ammunition, and a quantity of narcotics contraband.
